Google Pay recently revamped and launched an update for Singapore. Google Pay, now supports our national Pay Now network where users can conduct P2P fund transfers, payments to businesses via UEN, in-counter payment, order food online (Self pickup) or buy movie tickets.
This new experience launched in September 2020, allows customers of DBS PayLah!, OCBC and Standard Chartered to link their bank accounts to the app and access to over 80,000 places of payment across the island. (blog post)
Why should you get it?
As part of the launch, Google pay is offering rewards to users who utilize it. If you pay or conduct any P2P PayNow transfer you will get a chance to earn a cashback of up to $10. If you refer a friend, who makes their first Google Pay “PayNow” transfer >$10 you will get a referral fee of $5-8, so does your friend.
What’s interesting is the reward isn’t stored in a wallet as credit, Google Pay will transfer the cashback into your bank account which is pretty neat versus the other cash rebate offering as its cash money. The amount is credited to your bank within 3-5 days.
By the way, the app links and scans your contacts to see which are already on Google Pay and who arent, so this is also another way for you to get referral fees.
Update: Seems like the referral bonus was reduced to $3 in 2021 🙁

How to get it?
Not a Google Pay user yet? Click on this link, download the app, register and link your bank account, then when the occasion arises make a PayNow transfer using Google Pay App.
Note: This is a referral link, so I would get a referral cashback if you sign up using the link.
Where to check offers?
Open your Google Pay app, view the offers tab to see what are the updated offers to get cash rewards.

Tip: Use Google Pay to purchase your movie tickets, payment is via creditcard, you get the cashback + collect points 🙂
Hope this helps, during covid period.
